Create Space for Deep Work

Deep work impacts others, but life pulls us to the shallows.
Meetings pull us from deep work. Calendars become full of meetings and the list of meeting attendees grows. It is said that a thirty-minute meeting really takes at least an hour mentally.
Email is a life lived in the shallows. It feels good to clean an inbox, to get caught up on all the messages, but the work rarely has a profound impact.
In personal lives, busy schedules and activities eat our lunch. What once were deep heart connections become shallow. Shallow conversations become time fillers.
Today, we each have an opportunity to invest in deep work that impacts others.
We each have the unique view from our unique seat to perform the deep, challenging “think” work that can change the organization.
We each have the relationship to deeply connect with our spouse, our kids, our family, our neighbor to impact their life.
Perhaps the greatest impact that deep work has is on the person investing in it.
