Embrace Your Past
I had just shared my story, full of regrets, when I was asked this question:
How do you carry the burden of regrets of the past?
The answer for me: transparency.
At Harvest Group, an integrated commerce agency, we claim a Brene Brown quote: “Clear is kind.” We do our best to practice transparency in conversation. Clear communication of truth delivered with kindness.
And when applied to one’s own life, “clear is kind” or transparency can lift burdens.
Transparency of one’s life can remove the weight of regrets. Lifting the veil shows that one is human.
Attempting to display the perfect life, hide flaws, regrets, and struggles, builds a consuming weight on one’s shoulders.
A transparent leader removes the burden of regrets and struggles, giving others the freedom to follow.
