The Race
The race is one’s journey in life.
And, it truly is a race, as there is a designated amount of time to finish.
The race is personal.
It is a unique gift to each individual.
One’s unique race is not known by others.
It is only seen by the one on the journey, the one wearing the shoes.
The race captures the runner’s heart, good or bad.
It completely engulfs all passions and desires, knowingly or unknowingly.
The race is an individual’s “why.”
It is the purpose that will be written on the tombstone, good or bad.
The honorable race desires no glamour.
In fact, glamour and honor risk removing one from the race.
The race is run individually but impacts others.
The impact of the racer is felt by those journeying nearby.
The race never tells you exactly where it is going or where it will end.
And, this is the mysterious, beauty of life – you can’t see the final fruit.
The right race is above materialism, individualism, or personal desire.
For the journey is about others, lifting them up.
The race reflects what is important to the individual in life.
And where one spends time reflects what one values.
Knowing one’s race is a key to life.
As, running with no direction leads to little to no fruit.
The finished race leaves a legacy.
Any quitting removes the impact, as the race must be finished.
The race must be known to have a personally, fulfilling life.
So, spend time clearly defining the run, the journey.
The goal is to pass the baton to another to continue the race.
As any worthwhile race is never truly completed, finished.
Make the race not about you, your dreams, your desires.
Because in the end, the measure of your life will be how you impact others.
Impact others. Live generously.
