Today is part of the plan

The goal is to speed to the desired outcome. The desire is the fast, maybe the easy, route. And, the speed increases with the pressure of competing with others.

Make the video, get the followers, rise to fame. Move to the leadership position fast. Get playing time immediately or move until it happens. When obstacles arise, pivot, sprint a different direction. Demand the higher salary or the bigger title that match the personal timeline.

Take the pressure off. Realize that God has a unique plan for you.

When you know God’s plan for your life, everything that happens to you along the way is Him working out the plan.

So what is God’s plan for your life?

God does tells us constantly.

  • For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
  • Do not conform to the behavior of this world, but let God transform the way you think, then you will come to know His will which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2
  • And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
  • For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

Over and over and over, Scripture tells us that He has a plan. Sure, maybe we don’t know the ultimate plan, few do, but we do know who is doing the planning.

The ultimate plan is in the hands of the Master, and where ever He has you today is part of that broader plan.

The obstacle prepares for future battles, the victory relieves needed pressure on the journey, the rest energizes one for the future, the mundane task teaches, the present grind creates character needed for the path ahead.

There is great freedom and peace knowing that today is part of God’s unique plan for your life.

So, today matters.

Today is a gift. Today prepares. Today demands excellence. Today is part of the plan for your future self. Today demands obedience as He continues to work out the plan for your life.

Today ultimately has purpose.

Impact others. Live generously.
