A Great Goal for 2024
An underutilized, maybe under-appreciated, book that has stood the test of time. 66 books, approximately 40 authors, spanning 1500+ years. Whether you are a follower of Jesus, a believer in God, whatever your belief, the Bible is an invaluable resource for history, a view of mankind, a literary masterpiece. The practical advice of this book on self-evaluation, relationships, money, and other areas of life will lead one to a successful, rich journey.
Sometimes, the Bible is perceived as a book of rules and regulations that divide, a book that is full of friction. Maybe we depend on what others say is in God’s Word or our perceptions of the Bible? Whatever the case, it is easy for every one of us to become a passive listener at church or take what others say about the Bible as fact versus investing a very small of time each day to read.
A life-changing discipline is to read the Bible daily. An incredible goal, more impactful than any other goal that you write down this month for 2024, is to read the Bible in a year. The goal of this blog in 2024 is to develop a community of people that are reading through the Bible in a year.
Following are the details.
Many different one year plans, with different Scripture each day, exist. I will be reading the Tyndale One Year Bible if you want to follow what I am writing about. In this version, each day, there is Scripture from the Old Testament, the New Testament, a Psalm, and a Proverb. A couple of options are listed below to dive into reading the Bible in a Year.
- For a list of the Scripture to read each day, check here. Audio is available also. Pin this site to the Home Screen on your phone.
- If you like a hard copy, order those on Amazon: One Year Bible, ESV, One Year Bible, NLT.
The total daily reading time is 15 minutes or less. Another option is to only read the New Testament section each day, which will take 5 minutes, and allow you to read the New Testament in a year.
My goal is to blog 1 to 3 times a week based on our readings that particular week. I ask for grace in advance. I’ll publish the blog via email, Facebook, X, and Instagram. Please send me an email and, or follow/like your social media platform of choice to receive.

If daily Bible reading is already a discipline, I’d love for you to join in. If you have never read the Bible, I’d love for you to join in. If not the Bible in Year, I hope you are at least encouraged to dig into the Bible in some way next year.
Please share this message with family and friends, young and not as young, as the goal is simply to inspire others to read the Bible in a year. This could be a great family goal for next year. Additionally, the One Year Bible books are a great way for a small group to dive into God’s Word and discuss each week.
Here’s to an awesome 2024.
Impact others. Live generously.
