Attitude driven actions
The tendency of mankind is to measure individuals by their actions. Of course. This measurement is logical, as it is what we see every day. Actions are the natural barometer used to measure, well, everything in life.
A child’s obedience comes down to their actions. Are they following the rules that have been laid out.
An employees performance is driven by their actions. Is the individual getting the job done, hitting their goals.
A football player is graded on their actions on the field. The player receives a score based on how they executed during the game.
The measure of society is based on actions.
Culture cuts deeper. Culture has a much different barometer.
Culture brings into play, not only actions, but thoughts and attitudes, things that come from the heart. The action driven individual may hurt the culture at home, in the company, on the team.
A child that has forced obedience, a forced rule follower, may please externally, but have major battles internally.
An employee that only focuses on actions is political.
A football player only focusing on performance destroys unity.
The goal is for our actions to match our attitudes. Pure thoughts and motives.
When actions match attitudes, individuals will drive unity and not destroy each other with their words behind closed doors.
When actions match attitudes, performance is important of course, but the attitude with performance is what creates an award winning culture.
When a group of people, be it a family, a company, or a team, operate with attitude driven actions, mountains are moved, joy fills the halls, and fulfillment follows.
And, attitude is the one thing that we have complete control over.
