Let go.

To be heard, you must let go.

Ultimately, we desire to be heard by others.

Be it leaders, co-workers, spouses, families, friends, we want to be heard. Fully known.

The deep desire is never to carry the weight of life on our own, but we do.

The tendency is to keep everything locked up. Pride, shame, the feeling of bringing drama or problems to others causes us to withdraw. We hold it in, never to be the person we can be.

One can’t perform at peak levels carrying the weight of the world inside. One can’t be the spouse, friend, mom, or dad they need to be holding it all in.

King Solomon said that “there is nothing new under the sun.” Thousands of years ago, in his prayer of dedication of the Temple, he asked God to “hear” 11 times. Over and over, his one request was to be heard.

To be heard, you must let go.

We have people in our life as a gift. They want to hear. They want to be an ear. They want to help. They want to carry burdens.

We have God in our life as a gift. He also wants to hear, be an ear, ready to help, ready to carry burdens.

There is great relief in sharing burdens with others. Two can carry the weight much easier.

Let go.
