Encouragement

Encouragement changes a mindset.

Lifts spirits.

Adds fuel to an empty tank.

Refreshes the soul.

Sparks creativity.

Makes a person better.

Creates unity.

Encouragement takes intentionality, but rarely do we take time.

Bad news naturally rises to the top. Mistakes, misses, and gaps are shouted, emphasized, and the news travels fast to others. People become defined by the negative. Boxes are placed around individuals. Equity is erased.

The discouraging news empties the tank, erases creativity, saps the soul.

Today, life will be cluttered with dropped balls, decisions you would have made differently, disappointment, frustration – both at home and at work.

Don’t let the bad moment define the person.

Today, there will also be super powers that you notice, exceeded expectations, excellence displayed, unity built – both at home and at work.

Don’t miss the moments to offer encouragement. Be the difference maker.

Zig Ziglar said that the last words spoken to your child before the day begins should be a word of encouragement.

Sparked by this quote, I just walked to the kitchen as my son was getting ready to head to football practice. I told him that he had one of the greatest qualities one can have in life. Discipline. I gave him a few examples of what I see. He walked away with a full tank, ready to go.

Strange. The exchange had the same impact on me.

Go encourage!

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Impact others. Live generously.
