Everyone has a burden
Health, money issues, lack of friends, regrets over past mistakes, resentment or jealousy of another, cynicism toward people, worry over politics or grades or athletics, the fleeting desire to be liked or to be more popular or simply to be more, the thought of never being good enough.
Everyone has a burden. The burden occupies space in your mind, lives rent free.
When your environment quiets, stills, the burden rises in you head. The water can never be completely at peace.
We are all the same. Everyone has a burden.
The difference is……….
who carries your burden.
If you carry it, you will always have a burden.
And, eventually the burden breaks you.
But, if you hand the burden to Jesus, freedom, relief, peace can be found.
The burden requires a daily surrender to the only One who can take it.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NIV
