The desire
We desire what we don’t have.
This is the beginning of most major problems. This is the root of relationship issues. This is the cause of a bad attitude.
When one journeys alone or as a couple, one naturally desires what one can’t have. And, with children, many different journeys exacerbate the desire. The desire is true not only for the couple, but, especially, for each child. Couples desire for every child to have things that they don’t have.
In business, the desire rages. Internally, positions are desired, titles are desired, salaries are desired, clients are desired, sales are desired, on and on and on.
We desire what we don’t have, and there is only one answer.
Submit to God’s will for your life.
Recognize those things that you desire that you don’t have as not being good for you. Recognize that these are closed doors for a reason. Recognize that you never know what is on the other side of the desire.
Understand that there is a greater role that you are playing on this earth versus that one thing that you desire. The journey is greater than the desire. The walk is longer than this one moment in time.
Wait for those “only God can do that” moments. Most have experienced those explainable times, those blessings, those experiences, where only God could have made it happen.
Let the desire for these “only God can do that” moments be greater than your personal desires.
And, write those moments, those blessings down. You will need to remind yourself of them again soon.
Today, know that everyone has the same battle you are facing. We all want things we don’t have. It isn’t unique to you.
Learn to wait for the best things that God has planned for your life. He is good.
Impact others. Live generously.
