Called to contentment

Contentment may very well be life’s great challenge.

Attaining perfect peace, 100% of the time, with your career, family, finances, future, material possessions, friends is evasive.

There won’t be enough money from your perspective. Your marriage will have gaps from your perspective. Your house, your car, your 401k, your salary, will not be enough from your perspective. You won’t be enough from your perspective.

And, when discontentment comes, life has given us ways to check out. One naturally fights or adjusts to find contentment. Jobs, schools, friends, marriage, material possessions, quick adjustments can be made to attempt to find the elusive quality of contentment.

And, discontentment breeds discontentment. It never happens in a silo. One’s discontentment greatly impacts others.

With so much noise calling us to discontentment, one has to learn, fight to be content. It doesn’t just quietly happen. It takes intentional effort.

Remove comparisons. Comparisons magnify perceived gaps. The world only shouts what you don’t have, not what you have.

Make a gratitude list. Quickly think about the blessings before your eyes.

Reflect on your season. All areas in your life will not be firing on all cylinders, 100% of the time. Know that it is a season. Look backwards for confidence.

Redirect the inevitable negative thoughts throughout your day prompted by social media, challenges, other people, conversations, or situations. When the thoughts inevitably arise, redirect the negative to gratitude for the blessings you have in life.

Although contentment may be life’s greatest challenge, it is also one of life’s greatest gifts. And, we can all have it.

Contentment is the spark, the ingredient, to settle the soul. Contentment drives great attitudes. Contentment makes relationships blossom. Contentment makes one embrace life. Contentment creates joy in your job. Contentment creates financial peace. Contentment makes one magnetic. Contentment creates unity. Contentment turns the negative into the positive. Contentment creates momentum.

Contentment is worth the fight for your well being, your family, your job.

And, it is readily available for all of us.

Godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6
