Loyalty is fuel
Loyalty is fuel to impact others.
It is not a solo sport.
In fact, loyalty cements a group of people, be it a team, a family, a culture, a company.
It is impossible to be committed to another without being loyal. It is a two-way street. When loyalty is met with loyalty, commitment follows. And, commitment to another moves mountains.
Loyalty creates longevity. One does not exit when loyalty exists.
This is how a championship team is built.
Coach Phil Jackson, Jordan, and Rodman won three championships together with the Chicago Bulls. Radically different personalities, traits, and ways of doing their jobs. Loyalty to each other was the glue, deep enough to withstand the trials despite the differences.
Loyalty is the secret ingredient of a long marriage.
When the funeral director asked my mom if she wanted to take my dad’s wedding ring from his finger before the burial, she said, “that ring has never left his finger, and it isn’t now.”
53 years. Deep loyalty through trying times.
Any culture, any team, any relationship must have loyalty to sustain. Without loyalty, there is no commitment, and without commitment, throw the values out the window.
Many character traits demand to be glorified. However, the silent one must be present to win championships, cement relationships, build cultures.
Loyalty and self-centeredness do not mix. One who is loyal, lives for others.
Be loyal to those around you today. Question any thought that tries to take you other places.
