When the sea is rough, when the cards are stacked against you, when the road ahead offers little hope, how do you react?
Emotions have a domino effect throughout a family and business.
Emotions quickly change the scene, the surroundings, the mood, the motivation, the team.
Precisely the reason that Mark Cuban said that he likes to hire “stress reducers,” people that are even-keeled.
There is something about having someone that is even-keeled in the boat with you. That person that is not shaken. The one that steadies the ship when things look bleak, dire, hard, impossible. The calming voice that enters the huddle and says, “we got this.”
There is no gift quite like one that steadies the ship, calms the sea.
Appreciate those that play that role for you today.
And, play that role for others – your team, your spouse, your kids.
