If today was the last day of my life, what would I do?
Number one, I would tell my family that I love them. But, not in a normal, rushed delivery kind of way. I would, separately, look deep in their eyes and tell them that I love them. I would encourage them with Scripture, the only truth in this world, and give them my “9 lessons for life.”
Second, I would tell the 50 or so people in my life that were difference makers, “thank you.” I would tell them how much they meant to me. I would not leave those words at the tip of my tongue.
Finally, I would make sure that the legacy of my life was a clear picture of the Gospel. I would share directly with those that are close to me that needed to hear it. For the world, I would leave The Anchor.
Wow. I can sum up my last day actions in 3 steps. Every action is about people, not about money, popularity, material possessions, sports, business success, or power. My actions would be all about people. Nothing else would matter.
Jesus instructed Peter, as one of his last bit of actions, to “feed my sheep.” He told Peter this 3 times, emphasizing it more each time. From that day forward, nothing else mattered to Peter. His life was all about people.
