Definitely 5 stars. I relived the childhood we shared. It was a great description of how we grew up. I gave my son a tour of Tupelo that included all the good “fields” Mike describes in our neighborhood.
Mike’s honesty was appreciated. His journey and reflections are very encouraging. A great description of the importance of faith and how to apply it to your journey. I highly recommend it!!
Everyone has a story. Highs and lows. Joys and sorrows. Pleasure and pain. Documenting your own story provides context to your life. It provides insight into where you came from, why you are here, and where you're going. Reading someone else's story helps you to think more balanced about your own story. The Anchor is a good read. It's Mike's story of how his Creator orchestrated the events of his life; during the foolishness of youth, the risky choices of young adulthood, the pain of failure, the pleasure of comfort, and the insight that comes from a wise application of lessons learned along the way. Read this book. It's not about you, but you'll find yourself in the story line. At the very end of the book, Mike gives nine lessons learned. Those alone are worth the price of the book.
